POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the entire hotels property, interior and exterior, using the hotel work order system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Hotel Maintenance:

  • Ensure all required repairs and maintenance performed on all hotel’s equipment and assets as scheduled or requested by guests, housekeeping, and /or management. Such duties could consist of HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs, and furniture replacement and/or repair etc.
  • Painting of guest rooms and all areas of resort as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on hotels equipment and assets per set schedule.
  • Perform daily walk through, record all meter readings and boiler temperature.
  • Respond and complete all work order requests in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain pool cleanliness and sanitation.

Communication:

  • Provide details of work performed on Work Order requests to ensure proper and timely completion.
  • Respond to all radio requests and work order requests via the mobile system.
  • Update all work order requests upon completion.
  • Provide feedback to management on specific maintenance and repair needs.
  • Adhere to all safety programs and guidelines and wear appropriate PPE as required.
  • Work with Front Desk and Housekeeping to ensure daily tasks and guests requests have been addressed and resolved.

Miscellaneous:

  • Know hotels emergency procedures and where all emergency shut-offs are located.
  • Assist hotel Guests when necessary in case of an emergency.
  • Facilitates all Emergency response Training and Safety Training for all hotel employees.
  • Complete projects in accordance with hospitality guidelines.
  • Perform special projects assigned a time set for each project.
  • Support Hospitality’s environmental commitments by having the knowledge, skills and values to be a leader in the global goal of 'greening' the hospitality industry. Watch for safety hazards.

Required Experience:

Requirements for the position

Education and Licensing:

High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required. HVAC certification.

Skills and Experience:

Two to four years’ experience previous hotel or engineering position required.

Grooming:
All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Ranch standards.

Competencies:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Must be able to speak, read and write the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual English/Spanish.
* Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess basic computer skills.
* Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
* Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions. Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
* Knowledge of Resort operations, its services, and facilities.

Physical Demands:
* Most work tasks are performed indoors/outdoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Resort environmental systems while indoors. Must be able to withstand outdoor conditions including, extreme heat, cold, rain, winds, etc.
* Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
* Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis.
* Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
* Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
* Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
* Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen.
* Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
* Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

Other:
Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the fluctuation in business levels in the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Resort. In addition, attendance is required at all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the Resort’s facilities. Employees who violate Resort rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Flexibility with working hours and on-call rotation.
